The Troy Outdoor Classroom

Introducing……

A new unique environment for students to learn in

 “The Troy Outdoor Classroom”

Artist Rendering of the new Outdoor Classroom at Troy between the 900 and 500 buildings

This special place will be developed during Spring & Summer of 2019 in hopes of being used by all teachers during the next school year.  It will include a pond & waterfall feature centrally located with a walkway meandering beside it leading into the classroom area.

The pond will be the new home for our Red-eared slider turtles and several species of fish in the pond.  We will plant jasmine and other vine growing plants along the entire fence line providing adequate privacy for the students & teachers as they conduct classroom activities.  A variety of native plants and other important species of plants will be added to the landscape to beautify the area to make it the ultimate place for peaceful learning.  The path and classroom area will be equipped with a composite board decking that will keep the visitors mud-free and allow our special education students easy access for wheelchairs.

The seating for the classroom will include special convertible benches that allow the backs to flatten out for table-top use and versatile for different seating arrangements.

Shade structures will also be installed so the classroom can be used even during the warmest times of the year.  The classroom will also be a place where outdoor experiments can be done with upright planter boxes installed with a weather station to keep track of the climate for anything being grown.

Donations are currently being accepted through the ASB website.  Please consider making a donation of $10 or more to help us complete this Exciting new classroom![/text_output][vc_btn title=”Donate Now” color=”danger” size=”lg” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ftroyhighschool.myschoolcentral.com%2Fasbworks%2F(S(emwtnce5n0uphodbkeg2pbcj))%2Fapps%2Fwebstore%2Fpages%2FProduct.aspx%3Forg%3D10100%26pid%3D501|title:Make%20a%20donation%20to%20the%20Troy%20Outdoor%20Classroom|target:%20_blank|”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px”][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/1″]
